Lawn Weed Control

Weed control services for your lawn and garden

Lawn & Garden Weed Control Services

In Southern California, a variety of invasive weeds pose significant challenges to maintaining healthy lawns and gardens. Without intervention, aggressive species such as Crabgrass, White Clover, Dandelions, and other noxious invaders can quickly dominate outdoor spaces. These weeds compete fiercely for nutrients, often outgrowing and overshadowing desirable plants due to their rapid growth and prolific reproduction. As they spread, they can suffocate the other plants, leading to a landscape that draws attention for all the wrong reasons. It's crucial to address these invasive species promptly to preserve the beauty and health of your gardens and lawns.

Pacific Coast Landscaping is a lawn care company based out of Fullerton, California and serving North Orange County and the surrounding area.  We specialize in providing lawn and garden weed control services as part of our regular lawn care services or we can also provide it as a standalone service for residential and/or commercial clients who are experiencing an infestation of noxious weeds in their lawn or garden.

We offer our weed removal services as part of our regular lawn mowing programs or as a standalone service for both residential and commercial clients.  We can provide weeding (by hand) or weed removal (via spraying) for properties like HOA’s, townhomes and other residential or commercial developments.

In Southern California, lawns and gardens often face challenges from a variety of invasive weeds. These weeds can be managed with proper care and treatment.

Here's a list of the 10 most common invasive weeds found in our region that homeowners and gardeners can control:

  • Crabgrass (Digitaria spp.): A fast-growing annual that can quickly take over lawns and garden beds.
  • Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale): Known for its yellow flowers and fluffy seed heads, dandelions can spread rapidly.
  • White Clover (Trifolium repens): While sometimes used intentionally in lawns, white clover can become invasive, outcompeting grass and other plants.
  • Bermuda Grass (Cynodon dactylon): A tough, aggressive grass that can invade lawns and garden areas, difficult to eradicate once established.
  • Oxalis or Wood Sorrel (Oxalis spp.): Often mistaken for clover, oxalis has yellow or pink flowers and can quickly take over shady and sunny spots.
  • Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis): A perennial vine with white to pink trumpet-shaped flowers, known for its ability to choke out other plants.
  • Puncturevine (Tribulus terrestris): Known for its spiny seed pods that can puncture bicycle tires, this weed spreads rapidly in warm conditions.
  • Yellow Starthistle (Centaurea solstitialis): A thistle that can dominate fields and open areas, posing a threat to native plants and animals.
  • Foxtail (Setaria spp.): A grassy weed with barbed seeds that can be harmful to pets and livestock, and is difficult to control once established.
  • Blackberry (Rubus spp.): While not always considered a weed, invasive blackberry species can quickly overtake gardens and natural areas, forming dense thickets.

Managing these invasive weeds typically involves a combination of mechanical removal (such as hand-pulling), proper lawn and garden care practices (like maintaining healthy soil and appropriate watering), and, where necessary, the use of specific herbicides. Identifying the specific type of weed is important in determining the most effective control method.

Getting rid of weeds properly can be a long process, especially if you have a large property and the problem has gotten out of control.  The best option is to spray and we have a few different products at our disposal depending on how severe the problem is or how aggressive you’d like to get.

How Our Lawn and Garden Weeding Process Works

The first step is for us to have an initial visit to your property so we can mutually determine the state of your lawn and gardens and what type of weeding attention (or more) it might require.  Some of the lawns we visit for weeding services are well beyond the point of bringing them back easily.  We’ll tell you if that’s the case and we can come up with a plan to have the area looking beautiful once again.

  • We start with our initial consultation.
  • We check out the health of your lawn/garden and determine a suitable weed control program.
  • We show up on the scheduled days and complete our services as promised.

The end result will be a lawn or garden free of unsightly weeds!  After we’ve visited your property and discussed the project with you we’ll be to provide you with an accurate cost estimate for our services along with information on the products we’ve recommended to rid your property of weeds.

If you'd like an estimate for lawn or garden weed control services please give us a call (714) 773-4865 or fill out our online contact form and we'll get back to you right away.
