Our Story
Pacific Coast Landscaping started in 1979 when David Nelson was fresh out of high school. He was asked to care for a neighbor’s yard while they were away. When they came back it looked better than ever! That started Dave on the path to landscaping for a living. He started small with doing yard maintenance of friends and family. It slowly grew into what it is today, a thriving full-service landscaping company.
Dave has always had a knack for things that grow. If you’ve ever been lucky enough to see his personal vegetable garden, you would agree. His attention to detail and ensuring the customer’s needs come first has led to him running a successful business for 43 years. As he heads into retirement, he is handing over the reins to his 2 nieces and long-time office assistant. He knows they maintain the same vision for PCL as he has all along.
Kami Johnson
Owner-Office Management
Kami started with PCL in 2007. She graduated from Cal State Fullerton in 2004 with a Business degree in Marketing. Most office duties including human resources, appointment scheduling, payroll, account receivable and account payable are managed by Kami. If you call Pacific Coast Landscaping you will probably get a chance to talk to her. Kami is the mother of 2 very active children, Lyla and Stella, who both participate in water sports. She has been with her wonderful husband for 23 years. She loves crafting, baking and camping in her spare time. Call today to schedule an appointment or just to say hi!
Michelle Garcia
Owner-Project Manager & Designer
Michelle has been with us since 2015. She has spent 7 years doing contracts for Pacific Coast Landscaping as well as scheduling appointments, answering phones and returning e-mails. She has recently transitioned into sales. Michelle is also currently working on her Bachelor's Degree. She is a mom to two beautiful children, Isaiah and Iriana. She loves watching Isaiah play baseball and Iriana play softball. She's a true foodie and enjoys trying new restaurants. She also loves hiking and spending time with her large family.
Tracy Gamache
Owner-Project Manager & Designer
Tracy has been with us since the summer of 2021 as a landscape sales associate. She has a love of horticulture and landscape design, specifically sustainable landscaping. With droughts as a reoccurring feature in California, Tracy continues to develop her knowledge and understanding of water-efficient and drought tolerant landscaping. One aspect of sustainable landscaping Tracy enjoys learning about is California native plants. In her spare time, Tracy enjoys reading a good book, hiking with friends, and spending time with her nieces.
